The evolution of ideas is, like the evolution of man, a peculiar thing. This set, starting at one point with a clear idea, and going to another place, makes you wonder at what point did our evolution start, and what was the idea behind it. At the end, of course, just like here the idea doesn’t really matter, it’s all about the music.

Art is created through mix and remix, art the reconstructed, replicated, mechanized, stripped, naturalized, organized and chaos-tisised. Art is taken from the past and from the future and is being reassembled in the present, always in the present. Mixed, de-mixed, and served cold and hot, painful and pleasing, sweet and sour, but it’s served, poured down our mouths, or eyes, our ears and all over our body. Klaus Nomi started in New York’s most bizarre vaudeville performance, and his combination of Opera and Synth Pop in a few wonderful albums in the early 80s, and finished in the big bang of Aids - he was the first well known artist to die of Aids. The wave of panic started, and since then faded (a bit), but no one ever again did with Opera what he did.
I provide one of Nomi’s records in its full version in high quality, since it’s quite hard to get by now days, and it is well deserves a good listen.
