Roman Polanski - Dwaj ludzie z szafa (Two Men and a Wardrobe) (1958) [131MB AVI]
When A and B come out of the sea, carrying their life and friendship in the form of a wardrobe, the world can not help but stare with contempt and hate. After society tries to trip them on every step and the way, they tire and return to the sea. This is not a special world that Polanski created in this short film of his, this is our own, on all its cruelty and fear of the other, the alien. Fuckin’ aliens! Send them back to the where they came from - the sea!
From IMDB:
Two men come up from the beach carrying a large wardrobe between them. They come up into the town but not only find that accommodation is difficult to come by with their wooden travelling companion but also that both women and men shun or mistreat them.

A fascinating idea to depict it like R.P. did. It’s interesting to see how different artists, particularly in cinema, deal with the idea of aliens, alienation or fear from them (e.g. Soderbergh in ‘Solaris’).
I might just have found a nice topic for an article on my own blog. ;-)
