First I should warn that I am biased. That’s is usually the situation in which you are when talk about friends. Tangled in my headphones from time to time, merging the outside with inside, merging music with the world, I understand what She is talking about, what She is mixing into a single waveform. The two tracks were made one through a Zara shop and one through London’s Tube:

I never really thought about this listening experience before although I put on my headphones almost all the time, everywhere I go, and anyone whom I am with. Conciously, I will be listening to the tunes on my Ipod but subconciously, or inevitably I will also be listening to the background/ environmental noise. It is almost as though laying several tracks down and mixing them in real time as the environment changes over time. Every occurence of sound stands a potential to affect the listening experience that may leave a dramatic effect such as sound of car crash.
